3 Must Visit Art Galleries

The art gallery industry is very diverse. In essence, the term gallery conjures up a wide range of ideas to various people. For instance, to some it merely involves paintings while to some it covers rugs, jewelry, and architecture among others.  As media and artwork continues to expand in the creative nature of the artist, whatever is involved in a gallery expands as well. As such, art galleries can be perceived as outlets or mediums through which artworks are displayed and marketed. Here are 3 Must Visit Art Galleries

The Contemporary Art Gallery

The contemporary African art gallery highlights African artists for over a period of twenty years to date. It is a New York based art gallery where works roughly from thirty artists represented at all times. In essence, this gallery gives New Yorkers and Americans a chance to see the actual contemporary art from the roots of African culture. As such, the gallery serves individuals, museums and corporate clients that seek to expand their knowledge and contemporary fine art collections.

Currently, the gallery represents thirty individuals from all African regions. The work of exhibited in the contemporary African gallery is as diverse as the countries from which this art originates from. Such art includes contemporary sculptures in stone and wood, pastels, ink drawings, etchings, collage, and installations. Nevertheless, artists perceive, foresee, criticize and tell stories about the deepest feelings of their societies (New York Times).

The Luhring Augustine Gallery

This gallery describes its major focus as the representation of a global contemporary artists grouping whose varied practices include sculpture, drawing, painting, video and photography. Roland J. Augustine and Lawrence R. Luhring founded the gallery in 1985. This gallery specializes in ethical and confidential resale of art-works of distinguished artists like Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso.

In other words, this is the ultimate gallery for individuals who wish to purchase or rather sell pricey artworks from renowned artists. Likewise, this gallery spots a second gallery in Brooklyn for large and long-term projects. In essence, artists in this gallery exhibit widely in gallery contexts and museums in global exhibitions such as the Carnegie International, Venice Biennale and Documenta (Augustine).

Matthew Marks Gallery

Matthew Marks gallery at matthewmarks.com displays the international contemporary art and features, works by both American and European artists. This gallery handles work in all media that includes sculpture, film, drawing, and printmaking.

Founded in1991, this gallery represents the twenty-five American and European artists of different generations. Besides its four latest locations, the gallery established another location in Los Angeles back in 2012. Nevertheless, this gallery attracts audience from different lifestyles.

In essence, it is exclusive in its own right and offers contemporary layouts and architecture to its audience. In total, the Matthew Marks gallery maintains six exhibition spaces with a total of more than 19000 square feet in which they present thirteen to fifteen each year accompanied by publications (Marks).

Conclusion

In conclusion, the above 3 must visit art galleries have a special focus based on the audience and their location. Reflection on common art galleries shows art from a given medium, region or rather a singular style art. Nevertheless, all of the art goes on sale or retained for a special permanent collection.
