6 Best Beach Vacations Families Africa For Any Serious Traveller

The Beaches in Africa are as vast and varied as continent itself, with each having something unique to offer to everyone while remaining distinctly African. The continent prides itself with some of the best beaches in the world; this is the reason why visitors from various parts of the globe flock the African continent to have fun on the sun backed beaches. For Any serious traveler or rather beach-goer must visit the following best beach vacations families Africa at least once in a lifetime.

So which are the best beaches in Africa? To answer this question, I will take a both a subjective and objective approach, to come up with a list of the best beach vacations families in the continent. The subjective approach will be based on personal experience and reviews of other people who have had first-hand experience on these beaches, while the objective approach will be based on the ratings of review companies such as TripAdvisor, Blue Flag awards among others.

Diani Beach Kenya

The Diani Beach that stretches for about 10 kilometers. It is popular for its white sands, and Turquoise colored waters that are home to coral reef and thousands of exotic marine creatures.

Dotted along the sandy beaches are watersports centers offering everything from snorkeling, to windsurfing and kite-surfing. These breathtaking sites are accompanied by thatched sea front bars and restaurants selling ice cold beer and local dishes and snacks. Diani Beach was rated by Tripadvisor as the 7th best beach in Africa.

Nungwi Beach, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Still on the East African coast, we head to Tanzania, on an island called Zanzibar. Zanzibar is an old island stone town made up of several fishing villages, beaches and resorts. The ancient architecture and the relaxed environment gives it a feel of a place where time stands still.

Among the numerous out standing beaches in this Island is the, Nungwi Beach situated at the northern tip of the island stands. Nungwi beach in Zanzibar is not only one of the best beach vacations families in Africa, but is also listed as one of the Top Ten Beaches in the World.

The beach is absolutely stunning, covered with white sands and Azure waters. Moreover, there are plenty of activities to do on this beach. There are beach bars and beach front restaurants where you can sample delicious sea food, and take part in various activities such a scuba diving and jet skiing.

Seychelles, located off the East African Coast in the Indian Ocean is made up of over 115 beautiful islands that boast outstanding beaches. Among the most exceptional ones is the Anse Lazio beach featured on numerous lists as the best beach not only in Africa but also the world. It is popular for its fine grained sand, Takamama trees and palms, and a sense of privacy.

Camps Bay Beach in Cape Town

Not only is it listed as a Blue Flag beach; it can also be termed as the Miami of Africa. It is Located between fashionable Clifton and Bakoven.

Camps Bay Beach is a magical jewelry situated along the long stretch of Atlantic seaboard scenic beaches. An aspect that makes this beach stand out is its lively population. This is where the famous and the well-to-do congregate to see, and be seen.

Just like Miami, it is all about being gorgeous, from its Palm-fringed platinum manicured blonde sands, to the overlooking millionaire’s mansions, minimalist swimwear and dazzling sunsets.

Laguna Beach is situated on the southern part of Dahab, which was once an isolated coastal village. It sits on a natural lagoon on the Red Sea shores. Its position between the Sinai Mountains and the dessert creates stunning scenery that visitors love.

It is also a windsurfer’s paradise because it sees over 300 days of wind each year. Visitors also enjoy scuba diving. It is also a good starting point to explore the rest of the Sinai Peninsula.

Because it is quite a remote region, visitors get to escape the hustle and the bustle of the city to enjoy its natural beauty, Bedouin-style cafes and its mixed types of accommodation.

Last but not the least is the Skeleton Coast beach in Namibia. It stretches directly from the sea right into the Namib Desert. Visitors get to enjoy great marine life and also numerous ship wrecks spread along the coastline.
