I guess I should call this a confession or even better, a lesson learned the hard way for dating a psychopath. It takes a lot of courage for a grown ass man to open up especially about the lowest of his moments.\u00a0\u00a0I had courted; for the lack of better words, \u2018The Devil Herself<\/strong>\u2019 \u2013 a psychopath<\/strong>, sociopath<\/strong> with a borderline personality disorder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She had put me put me through various ordeals that at one point, that she had my life hanging on the tipping side of the balance. I am as well to blame since I played an active role in\u2026<\/p>\n

So how did I get myself into such a\u00a0mess?<\/h2>\n

Back when I was a freshman on campus, there was this fly girl in my neighborhood that used to drive me nuts.
\nHer style was out of this world, thanks to her supposedly \u2018monied<\/em>\u2019 dad!<\/p>\n

One moment she would be dressed elegantly like she\u2019s the CEO of \u2018The Money Inc<\/em>.\u2019 and the next she would be wearing tiny pieces clothing that turned the heads of the RAVErends<\/strong> and reverends<\/strong> on the streets.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She also had an accent that hinted that she has been to one of those international schools.<\/p>\n

Out of My League: Dating A Psychopath<\/h2>\n

Simply put, she was out of my league. However, those were the days when my confidence soared to the levels of stupidity. Some will call those moments \u2018the age of unrest<\/a>!<\/strong>\u2019<\/p>\n

So, I went ahead and hit on her. Just as you might have guessed, it didn\u2019t go well.<\/p>\n

After 10 gut-wrenching minutes of unleashing my \u2018A\u2019 game vibe on the roadside\u2026the only response I got was a yes, a no, a maybe, and a few sarcastic chuckles in between.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Finally, when I dived for the kill i.e. to get her phone number, she blatantly said \u2018you are not my type<\/em>\u2019.\u00a0So I headed home on a limp with my ego badly bruised.<\/p>\n

Yet \u2018stupid I<\/em>\u2019 wouldn\u2019t think twice about having a comeback when I spotted her a few days later in school<\/a>.\u00a0That day, the conversation was a bit different.<\/p>\n

She kept talking about her \u2018allegedly<\/em>\u2019 rich dad, how she hated the school…how she will soon quit school to join flying school\u2026how she will commit suicide if the dad does not divorce her cheating mother…how ‘the Dean of School’ was hitting on her…how her rich international footballer boyfriend will take her to Paris…how she turned down a job offer as a news anchor\u2026that kind of nonsense.<\/p>\n

Anyway, I didn\u2019t mind because it was better than being told you are not my type.<\/p>\n

Her sarcasm was something to be reckoned with. Out of the blues, she said, \u201cI could have hooked you up with the job if only you were cute and intelligent enough\u201d.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I wasn\u2019t about to bite that bullet on my knees. So I replied, \u201cIs that the same reason why you didn\u2019t land that job you supposedly turned down?<\/em>\u201d She almost turned blue.\u00a0I was wise enough not to ask for the number this time.<\/p>\n

The doomsday<\/h2>\n

The D\u2019day was during the 3rd week of the 3rd month of the semester. For those wondering why I am obsessing about this period, it is the period when I got to eat like a chicken \u2013 no offense to vegans and vegetarians.<\/p>\n

To give you some perspective, at the beginning of the semester, I used to eat chicken every other day. Half-way through the semester, due to dwindling funds, I got to settle for chicken products (eggs).<\/p>\n

Then towards the end, circumstances forced me to settle for cereals and vegetables just like a chicken\u2026<\/p>\n

So on this day, with a few coins in my pocket, I went to the grocery store to pick some cereals and vegetables for dinner.<\/p>\n

Just as I was about to pay for the groceries, guess who turns up? The lady that had been driving me nuts for months, with her crew of groupie friends. They looked set to storm the fast-food joint next door.<\/p>\n

When she saw me, she walked up to me, said hi in a flirty manner and then gave me such a warm hug that almost made me stand on my threes.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The smell of cheap liquor on her breath alerted me that the entire pack was quite intoxicated.\u00a0Before I could wrap my thoughts on what was happening, she asked in a sweet voice, \u201cHey come and buy<\/i> US<\/i><\/strong> some fries<\/i>.<\/em>\u201d
\nKnowing how broke I was, I made an excuse that I had some visitors at my place so I was in a bit of a hurry!<\/p>\n

Hell Breaks Loose!! Dating a Psychopath<\/h2>\n

Offended by my sleek move to avoid being the wallet, she blurted out loudly, \u201cWhat kind of a man makes cereals for his visitors, and cannot even afford to buy a lady some sausages?<\/span><\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

For a second or two, everyone froze and then turned their attention to us. This silence was then rudely interrupted by a shrill of laughter from her groupie friends!<\/p>\n

Though I was young and stupid, I was smart enough to know that I couldn\u2019t win the war of words with a drunken lady in public that had a backing of her ferocious groupies.<\/p>\n

Embarrassed, I paid for my groceries fast, and then muttered, \u201cI will back in a few to get you the fries<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0I was out of that place before I could hear her response\u2026<\/p>\n

Enough was Enough!<\/h2>\n

Reeling with anger, I waited for the pack of the stupid girls by their hostel gate. I had been rehearsing how I was going to handle the issue in a civil mature manner.<\/p>\n

Guess everyone was too stunned to say a word!<\/p>\n

The start of an F\u2019ed up Relationship<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I guess my intensity must have turned her on. From that day on, she was much nicer to me and soon enough she was under my spell.<\/p>\n

\u2026apart from the countless times we were breaking up or fighting about God knows what! All these were telltale signs of unhealthy relationship I choose to ignore.<\/p>\n

Seconds from Disaster: Dating a psychopath<\/h2>\n

On this fateful day, the following sequence of events unfolded in my tiny college room. I felt that I had enough of this girl\u2019s psychotic behavior.<\/p>\n

From, suicide threats to showing up at my door unannounced, faking the death of her parents, trying to forcibly move in with me, fist fights, drama in public\u2026and a myriad of other things that I can\u2019t bring myself to put in writing.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So seated on my favorite couch that faced away from the door, I said to her \u201cclose the door behind you as you leave, the relationship is over!<\/span>\u201d I then put on my earphones to avoid listening to the words that came out of her toxic mouth.<\/p>\n

That was a wrong move. While I thought she had walked away, the girl had other ideas. She yanked a kitchen knife and pounced on me like a wounded tigress.<\/p>\n

Damn! She caught me off guard. Remember I was seated facing away from the door with the earphones on my ears.
\nAll I could feel cold knife pressing hard on my throat, her shaking sweaty fingers on my neck and her hot breath down the back of my neck.<\/p>\n

I knew she was saying something, probably \u201cI will slit your throat right now you son of a B%%%<\/em>\u201d but I couldn\u2019t hear it because there was blasting music on my ears.<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t risk trying to get the earphones off my ears because I was afraid that she will think I was putting up a fight, only to plunge the knife deeper into my throat.<\/p>\n

I knew if she was going to slit my throat, it would be out of the heat of the moment. So if I delayed this action for like 10 seconds, she would come back into her senses.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So I found myself shouting, \u201cget the earphones off my ears so that we can talk<\/em>\u201d. As she was doing that, I pushed her away from me hard; she hit the wall really hard.<\/p>\n

And then she died on the spot!<\/span><\/p>\n

Relax, am messing with you. Seeing that she had lost the advantage, she started threatening to turn the knife on herself.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the commotion had attracted one of my neighbors\u2026so the issue was easily neutralized.
\nI had to find a better and safer way to break up with her.<\/p>\n

Moral of the story<\/h2>\n

If you are dating a psychopath find a better and safer way to break up with him\/her. Wrong!
