<\/p>\nAlan Thicke the celebrity father of “Blurred Lines” singer, Robin Thicke \u00a0had a heart attack on Tuesday 13th December while playing hockey with his son, Carter. He was rushed to Providence St. Joseph’s hospital where he was later pronounced dead at the age of 69.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his three sons Carter, Brennan and Robin Thicke \u2013 the “Blurred Lines” singer… and his wife, Tanya.<\/p>\n
Robin Thicke’s publicist confirmed his death on Tuesday evening. When Robin Thicke was asked to comment about his father on Tuesday evening, he mentioned that he was not only a gentleman but also the greatest man he had ever met. He further confirmed that his father suffered a heart attack while playing hokey with his brother Carter.<\/p>\n

Based on Robin Thicke\u2019s response, it is clear that he regarded him highly; he credited his father as an accomplished musician and actor who not only inspired him but also supported him in his music career.<\/p>\n
Carter who had shared the last moments with his father mentioned, \u201cOne of the last things he said to me was a complement on a nice shot I had made\u201d.<\/p>\n
Alan Thicke was a Canadian singer, songwriter and an actor, who will be best remembered in the United States for role he played in the family sitcom, “Growing Pains”. He played the role of, Dr. Jason Seaver, a psychiatrist, and also as reassuring father, who meticulously solved his family problems in a warm homily manner. The show set the pace for parenting ideals in the 80\u2019s hence earning him the nickname America\u2019s Dad.<\/p>\n
Being a man of multiple talents he composed various theme songs for television shows such as “The Facts of Life, and “Different Stokes\u201d sitcoms and also the \u201cCelebrity Sweepstakes\u201d and the \u201cThe Joker\u2019s Wild\u201d theme songs.<\/p>\n
In his height of his career he featured in the popular soap opera \u201cThe Bold and the Beautiful\u201d as Rich Ginger \u2014 the talk show host, and more recently made appearances on \u201cHow I Met Your Mother\u201d a popular television show.<\/p>\n
Mr. Thicke\u2019s career hasn\u2019t always been smooth sailing. Though he had hosted a myriad of shows with some being successful, other shows performed dismally and were accompanied by harsh critical response.<\/p>\n
Thicke has also been divorced two times, and managed to take custody of all his sons. Fortunately, it seems that failure inspired Thicke to do better or keep moving forward. Thicke had once mentioned that, he drew his parenting skills from the role he played for 7 years as dad in the sitcom “Growing Pains”.<\/p>\n
